What to do

Eat at least one serving of vegetables (or fruit) as part of a meal today. This can be a side dish, part of a main course, or a snack.

Why it works

Provides essential vitamins, minerals, and fibre; supports digestion, immunity, and long-term health. Most adults do not meet recommended daily vegetable intake. WHO recommends at least 400g of fruits and vegetables per day.

Research backing

The World Health Organization recommends at least 400g of fruits and vegetables per day, yet global surveillance data shows most adults fall well short of this target, with insufficient intake linked to increased risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers.
